About the Role
A niche, specialist family law firm in East London is seeking a passionate and committed Children Law Solicitor to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid legal aid experience who is looking to develop their expertise in care proceedings, private children matters, and domestic abuse/non‑molestation work.
The firm is well‑known for its work in complex childcare cases and for supporting parents and families during some of the most challenging moments of their lives. You will be joining a friendly team of four, working closely with experienced solicitors and gaining hands‑on exposure across a broad range of legal aid family work.
The Role
You will manage a varied caseload involving:
- Care proceedings from initial instruction through to final hearings
- Private children matter, including contact and residence disputes
- Domestic abuse/non‑molestation work, supporting vulnerable clients
- Public law and private law cases under legal aid
- Close collaboration with colleagues on more complex care proceedings, private children matter, and domestic abuse/non‑molestation work
A successful candidate must have a strong understanding of all areas of legal aid family work, along with solid CCMS experience.
What They’re Looking For
- NQ – 2 years PQE in legal aid family matters
- Experience handling care proceedings, private children matter, and domestic abuse/non‑molestation work
- Strong advocacy skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and thrive in a supportive team environment
