Live in Housekeeper Job in Berkshire

A returning long-term client of Greycoat Lumleys is seeking an experienced Housekeeper for their property in Berkshire. The family are currently residing in a rented home and are due to relocate to their newly renovated property in the winter. The family have two small dogs so it is essential that candidates who apply are pet-friendly. 

The current property has 4 bedrooms (2 bedrooms are in constant use) which are all en-suite. Our client is seeking a detailed Housekeeper who takes pride in their work, is detailed orientated and can be flexible in their approach to the job in terms of prioritising. The successful candidate must be familiar with how to take care of antiques, wooden furniture, gilded surfaces, and expensive fabrics and finishes as well as silver polishing and meticulous care in all housekeeping duties including a sound working of laundry and delicate fabrics. 

An overview of duties and requirements is listed below:

• Detailed and meticulous aesthetic care/personality

• Laundry and ironing skills/experience

• Fine garment care and wardrobe management

• Pet Friendly (they employ a dog walker)

• Child-friendly (non-childcare required however there is still a teenager living at home)

• Be able to set a table well for lunches and dinners

• Working in a harmonious environment with the family

• Flexibility as required of private homes

• Excellent references required.

Days & Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 6.30pm

Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 GPA 

Accommodation: Separate studio from the main house with own entrance together with a bathroom and kitchen. The new property will be a two-bedroom house fully air-conditioned, with sitting room, separate eat in kitchen and private terrace. There may be a possibility that you will share with another housekeeper depending on the demands of the new house in terms of staffing.
