This exciting role is with a company in the FMCG industry, located in Manchester.
Job Description
The Direct Procurement Manager will take ownership of allocated business areas and production lines and be responsible for/to:
- Manage the procurement of direct materials to meet business requirements.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to optimise costs and value and strengthen long term growth.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships.
- Ensure procurement processes align with company policies and standards.
- Working with third party clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams to forecast material needs and manage inventory levels, including for new products.
- Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain to avoid disruptions.
- Prepare and analyse procurement reports to support decision-making.
- Stay updated on market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Direct Procurement Manager should have:
- Proven experience in procurement, particularly within the FMCG industry or similar.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Good knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management.
- Experience of working with and managing third party client relationships.
- Ability to analyse data and prepare actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- A proactive approach to identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Able to start a new role on relatively short notice.
What's on Offer
- Salary ranging from £45,000 to £47,000 plus benefits, dependent on the level of experience.
- 12 month plus fixed-term contract position based in Manchester.
- Flexible approach to work, with hybrid working (2-3 days a week on site) and early finish on a Friday.
