Job Shadowing

Job Shadowing Job shadowing involves observing and learning from healthcare professionals in their daily roles. Students spend time alongside nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, witnessing their tasks, interactions, and responsibilities while also networking with professionals.  Who Can Participate?  Due to patient safety and privacy rights, we are unable to accept students under 15 years of age Students who are 15 years of age are only permitted in non-clinical areas Students ages 16 and older are permitted in clinical and non-clinical areas What else do I need to know? Job shadowing experiences will not extend to our Women and Newborn Unit, Emergency Departments, or Surgery Unpaid, observation-only experience in select specialties is based on availability Hands-on patient care is not part of the experience and is not permitted Experiences must occur Monday – Friday between 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; typically, these are in four-hour increments How To Request Job Shadowing To begin exploring healthcare careers with Memorial Health System, please complete the Job Shadow Request Form.
