Senior Accountant

Citadel Source are pleased to be partnering with a well-established and growing services business in Bristol, currently looking to appoint a Senior Accountant to join their finance team.

About you

You are an organised and technically capable accountant with experience working within a UK accountancy practice. You enjoy managing your own client portfolio, preparing statutory accounts and tax returns, and building strong relationships with clients. You have excellent attention to detail, can prioritise your workload effectively, and take pride in delivering a high-quality service. If joining at Senior level, you'll also enjoy mentoring junior colleagues and supporting their development.

As a Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Preparing statutory accounts for limited company clients
• Preparing Corporation Tax returns and computations
• Preparing Personal Tax returns
• Liaising directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries
• Preparing and submitting accounts to Companies House
• Supporting clients with general accounting and taxation queries
• Managing your own portfolio of clients and ensuring deadlines are met
• Reviewing accounts and tax work completed by junior team members (Senior level)
• Providing coaching, feedback and technical support to junior colleagues
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships

What the client is looking for

• Minimum 2-3 years' experience within a UK accountancy practice
• Previous UK practice experience is essential
• Part-qualified ACA or ACCA as a minimum
• Experience preparing statutory accounts for limited companies
• Experience preparing Corporation Tax returns
• Good working knowledge of cloud accounting software (ideally Xero)
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workload effectively

Desirable:

• Newly qualified ACA or ACCA
• Experience reviewing work completed by junior team members
• Experience using TaxCalc or similar accounts and tax software
