About the Role
Our client is launching a brand-new Japanese restaurant in central London this summer, and they’re on the lookout for a talented Head Chef to lead the kitchen. You’ll be heading up a small team of 4 Chefs and 2 Kitchen Porters, with the important task of training junior chefs who are new to Japanese cooking, so strong mentoring skills are essential.

£45,000 to £50,000 per annum plus a £2,000 bonus

Responsibilities as the Head Chef…
Leading and inspiring a small kitchen team, setting high standards from day one
Preparing high-quality Japanese dishes, including sushi and sashimi, with precision
Training and developing junior chefs new to Japanese cuisine
Overseeing daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth and efficient service
Maintaining a clean, organised, and compliant kitchen environment
The ideal individual will have a solid knowledge of Japanese cuisine and a positive, down-to-earth attitude. While this isn’t a fine dining concept, high standards are still key. You’ll be preparing well-executed sushi, sashimi, and more for up to 70 covers.
