About the Role
<h3>Electrical Design Engineer / Control Panel Design Engineer</h3>
<p>Location: East Sussex | Salary: Guide of circa £50,000 | Permanent</p>
<p>We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a well-established and growing engineering and manufacturing business based in East Sussex.</p>
<p>This is a great opportunity to join a technically strong team with a solid pipeline of projects, working on a variety of electrical systems and equipment used across industrial and infrastructure applications.</p>
<p>The role would suit someone with experience in electrical design, control panels, switchgear, or power distribution systems, who is looking to work across the full project lifecycle in a hands-on engineering environment.</p>

<h3>Key Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Electrical design of control panels, electrical systems, or power distribution equipment</li>
<li>Producing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings</li>
<li>Supporting design for manufacture (DFM) to ensure designs are practical and efficient to build</li>
<li>Working closely with manufacturing, production, and test teams</li>
<li>Supporting new product introduction (NPI) from concept through to production</li>
<li>Assisting with fault finding, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement</li>
<li>Ensuring designs meet relevant standards (BS EN / IEC where applicable)</li>
<li>Liaising with suppliers and internal engineering teams</li>
</ul>

<h3>Requirements</h3>
<ul>
<li>Experience as an Electrical Design Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or Control Panel Design Engineer</li>
<li>Background in control panels, switchgear, or electrical systems design</li>
<li>Ability to produce electrical drawings and schematics</li>
<li>Experience or exposure to 2D / 3D CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar)</li>
<li>Understanding of design for manufacture and production processes</li>
<li>Knowledge of electrical standards (BS EN / IEC desirable)</li>
<li>Strong communication skills and team collaboration</li>
</ul>

<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>HNC / HND / Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar</li>
<li>Or equivalent industry experience</li>
</ul>

<h3>Desirable Skills</h3>
<ul>
<li>Experience with SolidWorks (preferred) or other 3D CAD packages</li>
<li>Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar</li>
<li>Exposure to manufacturing, industrial, or infrastructure projects</li>
<li>Knowledge of testing, commissioning, or installation</li>
<li>Experience working in electro-mechanical environments</li>
</ul>
