Teaching Assistant - Rotherham

About the role:

Justteachers is seeking a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the Rotherham area on a long-term basis in September 2026.

The school places a strong emphasis on emotional wellbeing and behaviour support, providing a structured and nurturing environment to help pupils with SEMH needs re‑engage with learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting pupils with SEND needs on a one‑to‑one or small‑group basis
• Assisting with behaviour management and promoting positive emotional regulation
• Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support pupils’ progress and wellbeing

Pre-requisites:

• Relevant experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in an SEND support role
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND
• A good understanding of behaviour management and de‑escalation strategies
• Two education or school‑based references
