On behalf of NRS, we are looking for a Project Engineer (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract based in Hunterston.

As a Project Engineer, your main responsibilities will be to:

• Compiling Lifetime Quality Records (LTQR’s) for project closeout.
• Closing out design changes including the compilation of all supporting documentation and evidence as required.
• Conducting lessons learnt reviews and presenting the outcome.
• Producing Health and Safety files in support of project closeout.
• Production of project closeout reports.
• Candidates will require a meticulous Quality Assurance focused approach with good attention to close out a long running major programme of works.

Essential:

• Has supported commissioning activities within operational plant environments, conducting pre-commissioning checks, functional testing, and system handovers in line with safety and technical standards.
• Has operated effectively in highly regulated environments, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and governance frameworks while supporting audit and assurance processes.
• Possesses applied Mechanical / EC&I engineering knowledge (HNC level or equivalent or higher) to interpret technical drawings and support installation, testing, and system validation.
• Experience performing hands-on physical testing and inspections to confirm system readiness, performance, and adherence to design specifications.
• Has diagnosed and resolved faults during commissioning and operations, carrying out root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Experience producing comprehensive project close-out reports, capturing final cost positions, lessons learned, and performance against baseline to support audit and governance requirements.
