About the Role
<strong>We are currently recruiting talented Inspection Warehouse Operatives to join our team at the DEFRA site in Sevington, Ashford. Full time on-going work 4on4off rota, both day & night shifts available. Days - £12.81ph, Nights - £14.09ph with overtime paid 1.5x. </strong><br><br> <strong>Key responsibilities will include: </strong><br><br> <strong><em>Responsible for the day-to-day operational functionality and performance of the inspection operations from off-load from trailers to presentation for inspection and reload on to trailers.</em> </strong><br><br> <strong>•Loading and unloading lorries including manual handling, using roller cages and other MHE </strong><br><br> <strong>•Undertaking manual and/or electronic reporting requirements as requested </strong><br><br> <strong>•Take instruction from our on-site partners to support the inspection process </strong><br><br> <strong>•Updating the PINC Yard Management System following training </strong><br><br> <strong>•Carry out operational tasks to achieve departmental and site objectives </strong><br><br> <strong>•Maintain the inspection environment following training </strong><br><br> <strong>•COSHH Awareness following training </strong><br><br> <strong>•Assist drivers locating bays, support drivers in direction to bays and offices </strong><br><br> <strong>•Champion a health and safety culture </strong><br><br> <strong> </strong><br><br> <strong>The ideal candidate will have: </strong><br><br><br> <br><br><ul><li><strong>Logistics experience in a large fast-moving environment </strong></li></ul><br><br> <br><br><ul><li><strong>Strong warehouse system experience </strong></li></ul><br><br> <br><br><ul><li><strong>A strong knowledge of Health & Safety at work </strong></li></ul><br><br> <br><br><ul><li><strong>Experience of working to agreed targets </strong></li></ul><br><br> <br><br><ul><li><strong>Intermediate PC Skills: Excel, Word, Outlook </strong></li></ul><br><br> <br><br><ul><li><strong>Understanding of warehouse practices e.g. loading, unloading vehicles. </strong></li></ul><br><br> <br><br><ul><li><strong>Forklift roles available too!</strong><strong> </strong><strong> </strong></li></ul><br><br> <strong>Conditions: </strong><br> <br><br><ul><li><strong>Shift patterns will be 4 on / 4 off – 12hrs per day </strong></li></ul><br><br> <br><br><ul><li><strong>Days and nights available 6am-6pm/6pm-6am </strong></li></ul><br><br> <br><br><ul><li><strong>Weekly or monthly pay available </strong></li></ul><br><br> <strong>To be eligible you need: </strong><br> <br><br><ul><li><strong>NO unspent convictions and be able to pass a basic Criminal Record Check/Disclosure (DBS check) </strong></li></ul><br><br> <br><br><ul><li><strong>Ability to provide 3 years referencing contacts and have been resident in the UK for the last 5 years. </strong></li></ul><br><br> <br><br><ul><li><strong>The right to work in the UK </strong></li></ul><br><br> <br> <br> <br><br><ul><li> </li></ul>
