Live-in Couple Job

Live-in Couple required for an informal household of two adults and their 6-month-old baby. The household also includes two Whippets. The family are looking for a proactive, capable couple to take on the roles of Butler/Houseman and Part-time Housekeeper, and to support the smooth day-to-day running of the home.

The Butler/Houseman will be responsible for driving (including regular trips to and from London), day-to-day household support, overseeing contractors, basic DIY, household security, and general property care, including swimming pool maintenance and managing fires/log stores. You will also assist the Housekeeper as needed, and will be responsible for the care of the family’s fine art collection.

The Part-time Housekeeper will look after all cleaning, laundry and ironing, and will be confident preparing and maintaining guest bedrooms. Some weekend childcare and babysitting support would be welcomed.

Duties will include but not limited to:

• Driving duties, including trips to and from London
• Vehicle care
• Dog care for two Whippets, including feeding, walking and general wellbeing
• Household shopping and running errands
• Laying and maintaining fires; log store management
• Swimming pool maintenance
• Acting as keyholder and managing household security systems
• Organising and overseeing contractors
• Assisting with housekeeping as required, including preparing guest bedrooms, polishing silverware and general cleaning
• Care of fine art collection
• Cooking light homestyle meals when required
• Basic DIY and monitoring household systems (boilers, alarms etc.)
• Household cleaning
• Laundry and ironing
• Changing bed linens
• Some weekend childcare and babysitting support (helpful)
• House and dog sitting when the family are away

Accommodation: Two-bedroom annex attached with a separate entrance. Pets may be considered but only if they will get on with the household dogs.

Principals: Two adults and a 6-month-old baby

Pets: Two Whippets (dog sitting required when the family are away)

Days: 5 days including weekends

Saray: £60,000 combined salary, depending on experience

Start date: Flexible for the right couple

Days: Monday - Friday. When the clients are away, you will be required to work weekends to care for the animals and you will be given time back in lieu

Hours: 8.30am-5.30pm

Drivers: Ideally both to drive but not essential
