Trainee Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Apprentice Pathway)Location: York
Hours: Monday to Friday, rotating double days (6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm)
Salary: Competitive, with funded NVQ Level 3
A well-established food manufacturing business in York is looking to support an up and coming engineer through a structured development pathway, working towards NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance Engineering. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with some hands-on experience who is keen to build a long-term career in engineering within a supportive, well-invested environment.
The role:- Support planned and reactive maintenance across a busy production site
- Assist with fault finding on mechanical and electrical equipment
- Work alongside experienced engineers to develop multi-skilled capability
- Support equipment installations, upgrades and continuous improvement activity
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with food safety and hygiene standards
What we’re looking for:- Some engineering or maintenance experience, ideally within food or FMCG
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
- Keen to develop into a fully qualified multi-skilled engineer
- Positive attitude, reliable and willing to learn
- Flexible to work shifts and support production
