<strong>Maths Academic Coach</strong><br> <br>Can you help pupils make better progress in Maths when confidence starts to dip? Are you looking for a school-based role that gives you strong classroom experience before teacher training?<br> <br>*** Maths Academic Coach<br> *** September 2026 – July 2027<br> *** £85 - £105 per day<br> *** Secondary school based in Shrewsbury<br> *** 1:1 and small group academic support across KS3 and KS4 Maths<br><strong> </strong><br><strong>The Role:</strong><br> Work with the Maths department to provide targeted support for pupils across KS3 and KS4. You will deliver 1:1 and small-group intervention, reinforce lesson content, support revision, and help students build confidence in areas such as number, algebra, ratio, problem solving, and exam technique.<br><strong> </strong><br><strong>The Candidate:</strong><br> You are clear, organised, and able to explain ideas in a way pupils can actually follow. You want practical secondary school experience, enjoy helping students improve in Maths, and are keen to develop the classroom skills needed for a future in teaching.<br><strong> </strong><br><strong>Requirements</strong><br> • Degree – A 2:2 or above in Maths, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Economics, or a related subject.<br> • Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.<br> • Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.<br> • Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.<br> • Career Goals – A desire to train as a teacher and build a long-term career in education.<br><strong> </strong><br><strong>The School:</strong><br> This secondary school based in Shrewsbury offers the chance to build valuable subject-based experience in a setting where targeted support is used purposefully.
