At Fluidstack, we build the compute, data centers, and power that will fuel artificial superintelligence. We supply GWs of compute capabilities to the world’s biggest AI Labs at industry-defining speeds.

Our team is small, fast, and obsessed with quality. We own outcomes end-to-end, challenge assumptions, and treat our customers' problems as our own. No task is beneath anyone here.

There are a few thousand people who will shape the trajectory of superintelligence. Come and be one of them.

We're looking for a rare, highly specialized tax professional to build and lead our tax function from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to shape tax strategy across multiple jurisdictions in an exciting, fast-growing industry — working alongside some of the best people in the world.

This role sits at the intersection of tax law, business strategy, and financial operations. You won't just be a tax technician — you'll be a business partner who balances tax risk with commercial reality, and finds creative ways to align tax incentives with our forecasting, accounting, and financial reporting.

  • Lead tax structuring from a legal entity perspective across US and UK operations

  • Drive and manage external advisors on complex structuring projects

  • Lobby for and pursue tax incentives at the state level

  • Identify and execute real tax savings opportunities without overengineering structures

  • Lead our sales tax and VAT compliance function

  • Perform sales tax/VAT analysis across relevant jurisdictions

  • Lead tax provision and tax forecasting for US and international entities

  • Integrate tax planning with financial forecasting and accounting operations

  • Work with advisors to ensure payroll tax compliance

  • Review and improve withholding tax methodology for US state and UK payroll and benefits

  • Build the tax team and processes from scratch, in the way you think is best

  • Drive restructuring projects with external tax and legal advisors

  • Deep expertise in US and UK tax law, with experience across both direct and indirect tax

  • Proven ability to navigate multi-jurisdictional tax structuring from a legal entity perspective

  • Experience leading or managing tax provision processes under US GAAP

  • Track record of engaging with state-level tax authorities or lobbying for tax incentives

  • Strong commercial mindset — you think like a business person who happens to be a tax expert

  • Ability to manage and drive external advisors to outcomes

  • Active CPA required; JD preferred

The best person in this role will stand out by:

  • Bringing creativity to tax structuring — finding ways to align incentives with our forecasting, accounting, and financial reporting

  • Thinking from a tax risk perspective — knowing when to act and when to let something go in service of the business

  • Never losing sight of the principle that tax serves the business, not the other way around

The base salary range for this position is $250,000 - $300,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location. This range represents our good faith estimate of the compensation for this role at the time of posting. Total compensation may also include equity in the form of stock options.

We are committed to pay equity and transparency.
