About the role:
Justteachers are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Spalding that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone looking to develop a rewarding career within primary education. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support pupils across the primary age range, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging learning activities across the primary curriculum.
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and help pupils achieve their full potential.
- Provide additional support for pupils with varying learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), where required.
- Encourage pupils’ confidence, independence, and active participation in classroom activities.
- Assist with the preparation of learning resources and help maintain an organised, stimulating classroom environment.
- Promote positive behaviour through consistent support and encouragement, following the school’s behaviour policy.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers to support learning and development.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and colleagues.
- Support the wider life of the school, including playground duties, educational visits, and extracurricular activities where appropriate.
- Promote safeguarding and pupil welfare at all times.
- Uphold the school’s values and commitment to providing an inclusive, high-quality education for every child.
Pre-requisites:
- Previous experience working with children, ideally within a primary school or educational setting.
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant is desirable but not essential.
- A patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach to supporting children’s learning and development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and use your own initiative.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- A willingness to support pupils with a range of learning abilities and additional needs.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Two recent education-based references.
