About the Role

Job description

Electronics Design Manager
Cambridge | 5 days on site
Up to £85k + bonus, 12% pension, healthcare + more

Are you a hands-on technical leader with a strong background in electronics design?
Do you have experience with high volume manufacturing and working with international suppliers?

We’re looking for someone to lead and develop a high-performing Electronics Design team, delivering advanced hardware platforms for cutting-edge conectivity products. This is an opportunity to combine technical leadership with full lifecycle ownership, working across multidisciplinary teams to bring complex products from concept through to high-volume manufacturing.

The role:
You will lead, mentor, and develop a team of electronics engineers, driving delivery of robust, high-quality, and cost-effective hardware solutions. As part of that you will take ownership of the electronics architecture and roadmap, oversee designs from concept through to production - including analogue, digital, and firmware elements. The working environment is highly collaborative across all departments - software, mechanical, optical, and production teams. Together, you will define requirements, system architectures, and project milestones.

The ability to understand regulations/restrictions when designing and taking a product to market is essential, as you'll ensure designs meet quality, safety, and EMC standards, while supporting validation, qualification, and manufacturing readiness. You will also regularly work closely with suppliers and partners to optimise cost, reliability, and scalability, while embedding best practices in systems engineering, design for manufacture (DFM), and test (DFT).

You must be a team player, and a manager who cares about their team and their own development goals. You will be at the centre of the teams continuous improvement, and drive innovation and creativity across the electronics function.
