Live-out Housekeeper in Sheepscombe, Stroud

We are looking for an experienced, proactive Housekeeper to support a private household in Sheepscombe from 1st August to 29th August 2026. The property comprises a five-bedroom, four-bathroom main house, with an additional self-contained cottage that may be occupied during larger gatherings. The household is typically home to two adults and three friendly dachshunds. During a family birthday celebration around 6th August, occupancy will increase to up to 12 guests, so confidence working in a busy household is essential. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation throughout the property while providing general household support. 

Responsibilities:

• Daily housekeeping throughout the home
• Making beds and refreshing bedrooms
• Cleaning and maintaining bathrooms
• Evening turndown service
• Laundry and general household tidying
• Assisting with grocery shopping and unpacking deliveries
• Providing occasional assistance to the private chef when required

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience working in private households
• High standards of housekeeping and attention to detail
• Organised, discreet and self-motivated
• Happy working around dogs
• Flexible and willing to assist with a variety of household tasks as needed

Hours: Daily from from 1st August to 29th August 2026. 10:00am – 1:00pm and 5:00pm – 8:00pm

Salary: £25-30 per hour

Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 5 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
