Opportunities for Vehicle Technicians at Babcock At Babcock, you’ll carry out vehicle maintenance and repair that’s on a different scale. We play a vital role in the security of the nation, supporting the equipment used by the British Army and London Fire Brigade – preparing their people and vehicles to be mission ready. Working from one of our large sites around the UK, you’ll join around 1,400 skilled technicians that carry out the maintenance, overhaul, and repair of cutting-edge vehicles – from quad bikes to battle tanks, and fire engines to HGVs.   The work you’ll do here is always important and challenging, but as a lot of our jobs are scheduled in advance, we offer a much calmer environment than other commercial workplaces. When it’s not, you’ll always have a bigger team of committed colleagues working alongside you to get the job done. Meet our people The people in our teams are from a variety of backgrounds, although professionally they’ll usually come to us already qualified through one of our apprenticeship routes, or from the Armed Forces. We visited our Bovington site to hear from three of our team about what it’s like to work and train at Babcock: “I joined Babcock 6 years ago as a Level 3 Vehicle Mechanic and have seen the business grow its support for women in industry, I loved my role and took great pride in growing my knowledge and skills of heavy armoured vehicles. In 2023, I took the leap and became a workshop supervisor where I found my love of leadership and driving growth.
