About the Role

Working for a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) is a very rewarding career opportunity. You’ll have the chance to help the MSP carry out their role of scrutinising, shaping, and voting on legislation. You’ll also help them in dealing with issues of concern for their constituents.

You’ll support the MSP in making a positive difference to the lives of the people of Scotland.

MSPs are individual employers in their own right. They employ small teams of staff to support them in their parliamentary role. Jobs can be based in Holyrood or in local offices across Scotland.

MSP staff carry out a range of roles including administration and office management, casework, research and policy advice, communications, and media support. They are an integral part of the parliamentary culture and community.

MSPs welcome applicants from all backgrounds and all appointments are made on merit.
