About the Role
SEMH Teaching Assistant – LancingLocation: Lancing, West SussexStart Date: ASAPHours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm (Term Time Only)Pay: £100 per day
We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to support pupils within the primary years in Lancing, working with children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This role involves working closely with students who require additional support to engage with learning and manage their behaviour in a structured and supportive environment. You will be working on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping to promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs in the classroom
Providing 1:1 and small group support
Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation
Building positive relationships with students and staff
Supporting learning and encouraging engagement
Following safeguarding procedures at all times
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH (desirable)
A calm, patient, and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine interest in supporting pupils with additional needs
