About the role:

Justteachers is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in the Halifax area on a long-term basis. This full-time position is due to start in September, with shortlisting currently underway. The school is dedicated to creating a positive and supportive learning environment where all pupils are encouraged to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting pupils in the classroom to help them access learning and remain engaged in lessons
• Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and build confidence
• Assisting the class teacher with the delivery of lessons and classroom activities
• Promoting positive behaviour and supporting pupils’ social and emotional development

Pre-requisites:

• Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, youth work or support work
• Experience working with children or young people in an educational or similar setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A positive and patient approach to supporting pupils with a range of learning needs
• Two recent education or school-based references
