Accounts Clerk

Butler Rose is partnering with a well-established business based in Luton is seeking an experienced and organised Accounts Clerk to join the team on a part-time basis.

Hours: 2 full days per week (9:00-17:30, flexible), with additional days at the start for handover occasional extra days during busy periods.
Salary: £16,000 per annum (pro rata)
Benefits: On-site parking, pro rata 25 days holiday + bank holidays, 3-month probation, Bupa health insurance, standard pension, death in service cover

This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys working independently and being involved in all aspects of accounts within a smaller team. The successful candidate will have previous experience across sales ledger, purchase ledger, payroll, reconciliations, and CIS processing, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
* Processing and sending invoices to customers
* Chasing debts and outstanding invoices
* Processing supplier invoices
* Payroll administration
* General transactional accounts duties
* Using Sage accounting software (experience advantageous but not essential)

Candidate Requirements
* Previous experience in a similar Accounts Clerk or Bookkeeping role
* Strong understanding of sales ledger, purchase ledger, payroll, VAT, and reconciliations
* Experience with CIS processing and subcontractor payments
* Strong experience in transactional accounts
* Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
* Comfortable working within a small team environment
* Sage experience is a bonus but not required
