Audit a variety of CAP facilities to assist in this process. Provide training and instruction to CAP employees, and occasionally to contractors, on a wide range of safety and health topics. Assist in maintaining various pieces of safety and health-related equipment. Conduct industrial hygiene monitoring as needed and under the direction of CAP’s senior industrial hygienist.</span></p><p style="margin: 0.0in;text-align: justify;">&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p style="margin: 0.0in;text-align: justify;">Some of the responsibilities include:</p><p style="margin: 0.0in;text-align: justify;">&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Conduct inspections of work areas for compliance with safety standards, codes, and practices. Partner with field crews to identify "Complacency" in routine tasks and develop engineered solutions to complex safety challenges. Work collaboratively with managers, supervisors, and employees to address opportunities for improvement. Conduct follow-up inspections as needed. Report inspection findings to the EH&amp;S manager. Investigate safety-related incidents, including those that result in near-misses, and report findings to the EH&amp;S manager.</li><li>Provides technical safety oversight for large-scale civil construction and maintenance projects. Reviews and provides expert feedback on technical submittals, including Critical Lift Plans, Fall Protection Plans, LO/TO, confined space, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHA). Reviews and make recommendations regarding contractor safety procedures. Attend meetings with contractors as needed.</li><li>Delivers safety and health training throughout the year, including Safety Week, in coordination with the Centralized Learning &amp; Development (CLD) team. Aligns training methods and materials with guidance from CLD while independently leading sessions for onsite and remote crews. Works with crews to plan and run emergency response drills. Help maintain all training and safety equipment.</li><li>Assists in maintaining all industrial hygiene equipment in working order, ensuring proper calibration is conducted as required by the manufacturer. Issues equipment to CAP personnel as needed.</li><li>Inspects automatic external defibrillators, first aid kits and other equipment all along the CAP system.
