About the Role

Payroll Manager 40 hours per week | Monday–FridayHead Office – London £50-55K We are a fast-growing, dynamic QSR empire with nationwide outlets, looking for an experienced and driven Payroll Manager to lead our payroll function from our London HQ. This is a high-impact role in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, compliance, and strong leadership are essential. The Role You will take full ownership of a complex, high-volume payroll operation while leading and developing a team of three. Working closely with Area Managers and senior stakeholders, you will ensure payroll runs smoothly, compliantly, and on time—every time. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, and develop a payroll team of 3 Manage up to 7 fortnightly payrolls per week Manage up to 15 monthly payrolls Submit all BACS files accurately and on time Submit all EPS & FPS returns in line with HMRC deadlines Submit pension contributions within required timeframes Process PAYE & AOE BACS payments on time using SAGE payroll software Manage 3-year workplace pension re-enrolments Ensure the Star/Iris payroll system is maintained and updated in line with current legislation Submit the annual Gender Pay Report within statutory deadlines Ensure full compliance with UKBA Right to Work requirements Respond promptly to all payroll queries from employees and managers Manage and respond to queries from HMRC and The Pensions Regulator Regularly review end-to-end payroll controls, processes, and segregation of duties Liaise with Area Managers to identify improvements and drive efficiencies Prepare fortnightly and monthly payroll analysis for P&L reviews Respond to ONS requests accurately and on time Essential Requirements Proven experience managing high-volume, multi-site payrolls Strong leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop a team Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving ability Intermediate to advanced Excel skills Strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance Why Join Us?
